The SIlverFit is based on time of flight camera technology. This technology works with a highly specialized camera that measures depth. The camera has an array of infrared LEDs that blinks on and off at a very fast rate. This produces an invisible light grid that is reflected by the patient. By measuring diffences in wavelength of the reflected light, the camera computes the position of each of the patients' limbs in 3-dimensional space. You can compare it to the method bats use to echolocate small animals. As light travels very fast, the camera has to be very accurate and fast as well.
We use this highly advanced technique to make the SilverFit very easy to use. It is possible to do the exercises without touching anything. There is no need for a controller, a keyboard, or a mouse while playing. The patients just gets in front of the system and he/she can start.
SilverFit uses camera's provided by multiple companies, among others, Mesa and Optrima. The system is powered by middleware made by our partner Softkinetic. |
